By accessing or using GhostCost ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying customers.

2. Service Description

GhostCost is an AWS cost optimization platform that helps organizations identify and eliminate cloud waste. Our Service provides:

  • Automated detection of idle, underutilized, and misconfigured AWS resources
  • Right-sizing recommendations based on actual resource utilization
  • Cost anomaly detection and alerting
  • Multi-account cost analysis and reporting
  • Actionable recommendations with estimated savings

GhostCost operates with read-only access to your AWS account and does not modify any infrastructure.

3. Pricing and Subscription Terms

GhostCost offers three subscription tiers:

Free Tier - $0/month

  • Single AWS account connection
  • Basic waste detection (idle resources, unattached volumes)
  • Manual scans only
  • 7-day data retention

Pro Tier - $15/month

  • Up to 3 AWS accounts
  • Advanced waste detection (right-sizing, anomaly detection)
  • Automated daily scans
  • Email and Slack alerts
  • 30-day data retention
  • Priority support

Team Tier - $49/month

  • Unlimited AWS accounts
  • All Pro features
  • Multi-user access with role-based permissions
  • PDF cost reports
  • Custom alert thresholds
  • 90-day data retention
  • Dedicated support

All paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized third parties
  • Use the Service to compete with GhostCost or build a similar product

5. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Your payment method fails or your account becomes delinquent
  • We are required to do so by law or legal process
  • We determine that your use of the Service poses a security risk

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hi@ghostcost.com. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT: GhostCost provides cost optimization recommendations and estimates based on AWS resource metadata and pricing data. However:

  • We do not guarantee specific cost savings or results
  • Actual AWS bills may vary based on usage patterns, pricing changes, and other factors
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and implementing recommendations
  • You are responsible for all charges incurred on your AWS account
  • GhostCost is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

8. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
